چکیده
A numerical strategy to simulate plastic deformation in Mg alloys including dislocation slip and twin propagation is presented. Dislocation included through a crystal plasticity model which solved using the finite element method while taken into account by means of phase field fast Fourier transform algorithm. The coupled equations were different discretizations simulation domain same time step for both them. was used compression micro-pillar along [101̄0] direction. stress–strain curve predicted as well dominant mechanisms agreement with experimental data literature demonstrate viability take explicitly during alloys. Finally, an example slip/twin interaction polycrystals simulated show capabilities model.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Intermittent dislocation density fluctuations in crystal plasticity from a phase-field crystal model.
Plastic deformation mediated by collective dislocation dynamics is investigated in the two-dimensional phase-field crystal model of sheared single crystals. We find that intermittent fluctuations in the dislocation population number accompany bursts in the plastic strain-rate fluctuations. Dislocation number fluctuations exhibit a power-law spectral density 1/f2 at high frequencies f. The proba...
متن کاملSize-dependent energy in crystal plasticity and continuum dislocation models.
In the light of recent progress in coarsening the discrete dislocation mechanics, we consider two questions relevant for the development of a mesoscale, size-dependent plasticity: (i) can the phenomenological expression for size-dependent energy, as quadratic form of Nye's dislocation density tensor, be justified from the point of view of dislocation mechanics and under what conditions? (ii) ho...

A multiscale modeling methodology that combines the predictive capability of discrete dislocation plasticity and the computational efficiency of continuum crystal plasticity is developed. Single crystal configurations of different grain sizes modeled with periodic boundary conditions are analyzed using discrete dislocation plasticity (DD) to obtain grain size-dependent stress-strain predictions...
متن کاملPhase-field-crystal models and mechanical equilibrium.
Phase-field-crystal (PFC) models constitute a field theoretical approach to solidification, melting, and related phenomena at atomic length and diffusive time scales. One of the advantages of these models is that they naturally contain elastic excitations associated with strain in crystalline bodies. However, instabilities that are diffusively driven towards equilibrium are often orders of magn...
